Ballroom is taking a trip to Iceland! Expect a unique and radiant night bringing some of Europe’s most well-known Ballroom figures from The Netherlands and the Nordics to Reykjavík. Brought to you by The Legendary Kiki House of Angels, R.E.C Arts Reykjavík/ House of Revolution, and Reykjavík Fringe!

Ballroom is a Queer subculture that aims to centralize LGBTQIA+ identities, especially racialized Queer people. It originated in the 1960s from Black communities in Harlem, New York but has since spread all around the world. Ballroom serves as a safer space for Black, Brown, Trans and Queer folks in particular.

Ball events include performative competition categories, in which participants get to showcase, for example, their fashion, beauty, voguing dance skills, among others.

In The Midnight Sun Kiki Ball, these different categories will be introduced to you by some of the most influential and experienced ballroom community members of various international Ballroom Kiki house members.

The event will consist of “open-to-all” (OTA) competition categories and information on important Ballroom-related topics. After the ball, there's an epic afterparty with top DJs!

There will be a sign language interpreter for the event.

This event will also serve as the official afterparty of the Reykjavík Fringe Festival!
