'b i r d' is a surreal piece of cosmic-body-horror-comedy-theatre, set in a sinister, underground bird sanctuary - which may (or may not) actually be a shadowy front for an ancient cult that worships the ever-thrumming Eldritchian entity buried beneath its grounds - and it is every bit as weird as it sounds.
Staged as a guided tour through the sanctuary, audiences can, throughout the course of the show, expect to learn more about the facility through exciting and informational presentations by their hosts as well as a series of short promotional videos; marvel, slack-jawed at the wonder of nature via exhilarating bird-of-prey flying displays and even enjoy meeting and greeting some of the sanctuary's rarer breeds, up close and personal (played by people in elaborate costumes - there aren't any actual birds in it, just to be clear.)
The show is both a discipline and genre-spanning work which blends elements of stand-up and character comedy with horror, physical theatre, animation, interactive multimedia elements, dance and more to create what we hope is a truly unique experience for audiences that is every bit as chilling as it is supremely and joyously stupid. We also hope it is quite good.
